Creating and Managing Promo Codes

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for event organizers to create, edit, and manage promotional codes on our ticketing platform. These codes offer discounts to ticket buyers, enhancing sales and customer engagement.

Creating a Single Promo Code

  1. Accessing the Feature:
    • Navigate to the “Promo codes” tab on your event dashboard.
  2. Adding a New Code:
    • Click the “Add code” button.

    • Enter the promo code name in the text field (avoid spaces).
    • Optionally, click “Generate” for an automatically generated 10-character code.

  1. Setting Ticket Limits:
    • Choose between “Unlimited” or “Limited” uses.
    • If limited, specify the maximum number of uses.
  2. Determining Discount Amount:
    • Select either a fixed amount or a percentage discount.
    • Note: Only one discount type can be active at a time.
  3. Scheduling the Promo Code:
    • Choose between immediate activation (“Now”) or a scheduled time.
    • Use date and time pickers for precise scheduling.
  4. Applying Code to Tickets:
    • Select “All tickets” or specific tickets.
    • If specific tickets are chosen, check the boxes next to the relevant tickets.
  5. Saving the Promo Code:
    • Click “Save” to activate the promo code, or “Cancel” to discard changes.

Managing Existing Promo Codes

  1. Editing Codes:
    • Locate the code in the list and click “Edit” to modify settings.

  1. Deleting Codes:
    • Click “Delete” next to unused codes. Confirm the deletion in the modal.
    • If a code has been used, an error message will prevent deletion.
  2. Sharing Codes:
    • Copy the promo code to distribute the promo code to potential ticket buyers.
  3. Viewing Code Usage:
    • Check the “Uses” column to monitor how often each code is used.

Test your codes on the event checkout

  1. Applying a Promo Code:
    • Enter the promo code in the designated field above the ticket selection.
    • Click “Apply” and wait for the validation.

  1. Feedback on Code Application:
    • If the code is valid: You will see the adjusted prices and success message.
    • If the code is invalid: You will see an error message with possible reasons.
  2. Removing an Applied Promo Code:
    • Click the “Remove” link beside the applied code.
    • Prices revert to original values, and a removal confirmation is displayed.

Promo Code and Secret Code Relationship

  • Ensure a promo code is not simultaneously used as a secret code for hidden tickets.

Finalizing Your Promo Code Setup

  • Review all settings and ensure your promo codes are correctly configured for your event.
  • Utilize the promo code feature to enhance your event's marketing and sales strategy effectively.
